Story
Hi everyone,
I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but today I’m reaching out from the deepest part of my heart to ask for help for someone I love more than words can express. My brother, Jose, who everyone knows as Josie.
Josie is only 24, but he’s already the kind of person the world needs more of. He’s selfless, gentle, and so full of heart. He’s the type of person who will give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked because that’s just who he is. If you know me, you know how much he means to me. We’ve been through everything together. He’s not just my brother he’s my best friend, my family, my safe space.
A few days ago, Josie was in a terrible accident that left him in a really vulnerable state. Seeing someone I love so much in so much pain has been absolutely heartbreaking. He’s facing a long and difficult recovery, surgery, months of physical therapy, and being completely out of work for at least three months. I would do anything to take this pain away from him, but right now, what we need most is support.
It’s just the two of us here in the U.S., and we’ve always done our best to take care of each other and send money every week to help our parents in Mexico. We were already juggling a lot, but this accident has turned our lives upside down. Between hospital bills, rent, groceries, and everyday expenses, I’m doing everything I can but I can’t do this alone.
If you know Josie, you know he’s the kindest soul. If you know me, you know how much I love him. This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever faced, and asking for help isn’t easy but I know community and compassion can carry us through what feels impossible.
Whether you can give 5 or 50, anything helps. If you’re not in a place to donate, please consider sharing this. Every share, every kind word, every act of love makes a difference.
Thank you for loving Josie like I do. Thank you for helping me take care of him in his most vulnerable moment. And thank you for reminding us we’re not alone.
With all my heart,
Sister
